Construction drawings plays very crucial role in understanding any project and for its successful execution .Also known as engineering print it is full of lines, abbreviation or icons. Reading blue print is very much important for contractor, sub-contractor or tradesman and understanding it properly makes task much easier. Now days with increasing building and system, it’s important to have 2 dimensional drawings which describes overall project. Proper understanding about basic drawing and related information’s helps to obtain permits or to decide about construction schedule, estimate prices. The main aim of construction drawing is to show details regarding quality standards, what is to be built, specification about materials used and installation techniques. The keys to a fruitful construction project are good planning and good communication with your team. The planning phase – everything that happens before anyone bangs a nail – is the hardest part of any project
There are many types of drawing and complete house plan consist of floor plans, elevation plan ,plumbing plan, electrical plan ,foundation plan. Also architectural symbols play an important role and it has been developed with set pattern so that everyone familiar with the building trades can understand their meaning. Different designers and draftsperson have small variations in their style of drawing but usually their meaning is clear to anyone familiar with construction drawings.

SITE PLAN: – It basically includes
The extent of earthworks included cutting and filling, and the provision of bank and retaining walls.
Roads, footpaths, hard standings and paved areas.

FLOOR PLAN– Each floor of the building is drawn to scale (generally a ⅛” or ¼” scale). These plans show interior and exterior walls, door and window locations, room dimensions, stairs, cabinets, toilets and sinks and other relevant
ROOF PLANS– It show roof drains, roof pitch, roof-mounted equipment and other related details such as materials to be used and planned penetrations like a plumbing or exhaust vent.
Plumbing, mechanical and electrical plans are usually needed for larger projects so each individual discipline can be shown on separate sheets without making the architectural work too crowded and difficult to understand.
Sections–Most common are elevation sections which cuts vertically through the walls and floors. Sections are especially useful for carpenters trying to see how the framing and other elements fit
Details -Details are often section drawings of the foundation, exterior walls, windows, stairs, framing or other construction elements.
